Step inside and sample their stellar menu, specially curated for both the adventurous eater and those craving comforting classics. At the heart of their selection are rich stews and hearty soups that truly define Korean warmth. I highly recommend trying the Sogogi Guk Bap, a spicy oxbone broth featuring tender beef brisket and fresh veggies. This dish encapsulates a perfectly balanced blend of spices and flavors, transporting you straight to Korea with each comforting sip. For fans of beef, the Galbi Tang, with its succulent short ribs and glass noodles, is a must-try at $27.99. Not to forget the mesmerizing Dogani Tang, a delicately light yet rich oxtail broth that will soothe the soul.
The sides here are just as impressive as the main dishes. Don’t miss the homemade Son Mandu, which bursts with savory flavor and ensures you get a taste of Korea in every bite. If you fancy something crispy, try the Haemul Pa Jeon, a seafood pancake that's both crispy and tender, perfect accompanied by a refreshing drink during happy hour.
What makes Kim Ga Meon Ok stand out is not just its tantalizing menu but the experience that comes with it. With friendly staff, a self-service system, and unlimited beef bone broth and kimchi, you can ensure every meal feels unique. “ A very smooth takeout experience, right off the turnpike! Definitely recommend for that purpose. Both soups were very good, especially the dogani tang, which was rich yet light, and the galbi in there galbi tang was deliciously soft. The LA galbi and buchu jeon were also good. However, the hoeh naeng myeon was kind of a clump of stuck together noodles, so I'd pass on that next time. Would definitely come again! ”
“ Stopped by twice already because of its location close to King Spa. I love the fact that they give you unlimited beef bone broth and free refills on kimchi and pickled radish. They also offer lunch special on a Monday (not sure if it's weekdays only) which had two options - tofu stew and a beef stew. Both were flavorful but I would skip the tofu in the future. The kimpap was not really my favorite as it was not in a stone pot to crisp up the rice and it's just a bunch of shredded vegetables with ground beef. Overall, I would come back again for their beef broth and beef stew. The staff are friendly and it's a joint where you serve yourself. ”
“ We had lunch here before our visit to King Spa. You order at the counter, and then they call your number to get your food. Cabbage kimchi and turnip kimchi are self service and all you can eat essentially. I had the black soy cold noodles, which were honestly a huge portion and well worth the $15. X had the kalbi, which was very flavorful, but kind of pricey. I think we'll go with something else next time, since it was an expensive lunch. All in all, a great spot to have a meal before or after king spa. ”
“ I came here after spending a spa day at King Spa. We ordered the don katsu (fried pork cutlet, cabbage, corn, tomatoes, rice, miso soup) and the dumplings (mandu). It's self service so you order at the front counter and then pick up at the counter in the back. There's a lot of seating. The portions were huge. I do wish they put less dressing on the cabbage or if it could be on the side though. The don katsu was crispy and the sauce was thick. The dumplings were my favorite. They were handmade and had a lot of filling (pork and vegetables). This is a better option for food instead of King Spa. I would definitely come back! ”
“ Best Korean Naengmyeon (cold noodle s in chilled beef broth) in town. Clean, refreshing and just really good! Had the combo with pork which was also very tender and good. Went back a few days later and had sogogi gook bop, hot spicy beef soup. I'm sure they have a secret beef broth recipe. The hot beef broth was also very good. Combination of spicy beef broth, kimchi, bean sprouts, radish and lots of tender beef. Very flavorful yet not overpowering, just right. Will be going back to try other beef broth dishes. Oh, the appetizers like the dumplings were home made and very good. And the chive pancake was also excellent. Crispy with lots of chives. I should mention that this place is self serve. You order when you enter then pick up your order when your number is called. They have self serve hot and cold water and hot beef broth as well. ”
“ Stopped in during lunch. Did not realize that there is free parking in the building garage, so parked at a meter. Order at the register, pick a table, grab water and bone marrow broth in a cup, then wait for your number to appear in the screen. Utensils are all on the side. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh! Mandoo, bibimbap had lots of veggie, the pork kalbi was soft, and pajun was full of good seafood and scallion. The nengmyun was ok - but I haven't found good nengmyun in the area, so that was expected. Cleared my own tray by bringing it back to the counter, and grabbed a free melon or red bean frozen ice pop. Loved it hear and will absolutely come back again. Plus 10% off during lunch! ”
“ Great spot to enjoy some naengmyun, refreshing potato-based noodles in a cold broth. They have affordable prices and since it's a self-service restaurant, no tipping is required! We also enjoyed the galbi, but their specialty is definitely the noodles. One can also enjoy some hot broth which is served beside the water. The food comes out fast and is a great choice on a warm day! ”
“ I love self-service restaurants. I like shuttling my own food from a counter because it means I can eat at my own pace. I especially love not having to worry about calculating a tip at the end of the meal. At Kim Ga Meon Ok, they've upped the self-serve model. You place your order at a counter and wait until your number appears in the electronic display above the kitchen. In the meantime, you're free to collect your water (hot or cold), silverware, and - best of all - unlimited servings of savory beef broth that arguably make the wait well worth it. I ordered the hot stone bibimbap - mixed rice with some meat and veggies - which created a respectable layer of burnt rice along the sides as it sat in the screaming hot pot. Another person in our party ordered the jeyuk dolsot bibimbap, which we thought would be another bibimbap dish with spicy pork as the protein; instead, it turned out to be just meat and rice in a hot stone pot. Each of our entrees came on a tray with some kimchi and soup on the side. The soup apparently changes regularly - this time, it was a seaweed soup. The last thing we ordered was a seafood pancake. It was much smaller than we expected, and I was prepared to disappointedly dock them a star for the smaller sized portion, but I was surprised. This pancake might be smaller, but it's PACKED with seafood, so much that there were shrimp and squid pieces tumbling out with every bite. The service, too, surprised us. Even though we hadn't said a word, they apologized for the smaller-than-usual serving and gave us another seafood pancake. For free. Free food always makes me happy, but food that's free AND this good? I was sold solid. One last thing to consider is parking. There's no two ways about it - it's rough. There are a few street parking spots available in the adjacent streets, but once those are taken, you'll be circling 'round the blocks quite a bit. We ourselves ended up playing our chances with the nearby Shop Rite parking lot and felt hugely relieved our car wasn't towed upon our return. I felt it was worth the gamble since we ended up enjoying our meal quite a bit, but you can decide whether it's worth the risk. ”
